Turkish Airlines to lease two converted Boeing 777 freighters from AerCap
The aircraft will be converted from passenger to cargo configuration in Abu Dhabi by Etihad Engineering, with deliveries running from March to September 2027.
According to aircargonews.net, Turkish Airlines has signed lease agreements with lessor AerCap for two Boeing 777-300ERSF aircraft. These are former passenger jets being converted into freighters (a P2F, or passenger-to-freighter, conversion). AerCap itself announced the deal.
The aircraft will be converted in Abu Dhabi at the maintenance centre of Etihad Engineering. Etihad Engineering has had a strategic partnership with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) since 2021. The announcement did not say whether IAI is involved in converting these two aircraft.
Turkish Airlines will receive the aircraft between March and September 2027. The announcement did not disclose the lease terms, the cost or the routes the aircraft will fly.
